Ancestry.com Library Edition is available for use at any of the Columbia County Libraries. HeritageQuest is powered by Ancestry and contains many of the same features, but it can be accessed anywhere through gchrl.org. Other historical documents are available in Galileo and the NewsBank Archives, also accessible at gchrl.org.
Specialized Collections
A variety of resources are available especially for genealogists. These include Augusta City Directories from the 1940s to present day, genealogical publications, and microfilm collections.
Educational Opportunities
Classes are available in person and online for aspiring genealogists. Universal Class (available through gchrl.org) has self-directed online courses about genealogy. Each of the Columbia County Library branches offers regular genealogy clubs and classes. Class details are available at gchrl.org.
