Luther was born in Augusta, Georgia. He graduated from high school and enlisted into the United States Army as a combat infantryman during the Vietnam Era. After marriage and five children he used his G.I. benefits to attend college where he earned a bachelors degree in History and thereafter, attending law school, he earned a doctorate in Juris Prudence at John Marshall Law School in Atlanta, Georgia. Doing all this while supporting a family of seven. He practiced law as a trial attorney before being struck with a condition which was determined to be connected to his military service. He was no longer able to practice law and that resulted in returning to an old forgotten talent, writing. He'd accepted Jesus Christ and became a born-again Christian in 1990 and after trying his hand at writing Christian fiction, his debut novel, "The Third Cross", was traditionally published in 2010. Since then he's gone on to complete three more inspirational novels.
